KEY FACTORS AFFECTING SPRING COST

The cost of a spring is not determined solely by its size. It is influenced by material, complexity, technical requirements, and order quantity. Understanding these factors helps businesses the right spring type, optimize costs, and reduce ordering errors.

1. Spring Material

This is the most critical factor affecting cost.

Common materials:

  • Carbon steel (65Mn, SUP10, SWC) - low cost, high elasticity
  • Alloy steel - better durability, higher cost
  • Stainless steel (304 / 316) - excellent corrosion resistance, highest cost
  • Zinc-plated / nickel-plated steel - additional surface treatment cost

Higher material quality => better fatigue resistance => higher cost.

2. Spring Dimensions

Includes:

  • Wire diameter
